With over 20 years in the seat and under the tent, weāve lived the sport from grassroots to national level. Weāve won races, guided champions, and built a reputation on hard work, honesty, and heart.
But for us, itās not just about race wins ā itās about creating something bigger.
A culture. A legacy. A pathway.
From your first laps to championship Sundays, weāre here to help you chase your goals, fuel your fire, and back you every step of the way.
This is TKC. Where champions are made ā and where it all starts.
Meet the Team Behind Townsville Kart Centre

Luke Flynn - Driver/Coach/Mentor
Racer. Coach. Builder of Champions.
Luke Flynn is a racer at heart ā born with a helmet in one hand and a blueprint in the other.
From the moment he hit the track at age 8 in Cadet 9, Luke has lived and breathed karting. His journey took him from local club days to the biggest events in the country ā collecting podiums in Darwin, Emerald, Bundaberg, and even taking out a round win in KA1 at the Australian Kart Championship, racing under the renowned Harrington Doyle Racing banner.
At the internationally recognised Race of Stars on the Gold Coast, Luke made headlines by securing pole position and going on to finish second in a nail-biter, just 0.021 seconds off the win ā a race still talked about today.
But while Lukeās own results speak volumes, itās his commitment to building others that truly sets him apart.
As the founder of Townsville Kart Centre, President of the Townsville Kart Club, and a respected coach and mentor, Luke has spent over two decades developing the next generation of racers ā drivers who are now claiming podiums of their own. His coaching helped guide Brock Nolan to the 2023 Cadet 9 Australian Championship, and continues to shape the stars of tomorrow.
Luke is more than a racer ā heās a builder. Of champions. Of community. Of legacy.
Whether itās tuning a kart, refining racecraft, or helping a young driver find confidence in themselves, Lukeās mission stays the same:
Create champions. Leave a legacy. And build a better future for karting.

Brian Flynn - Mentor/Coach/Mechanic:
When experience speaks, people listen ā and Brian Flynn has decades of it.
As a lifelong motorsport enthusiast and seasoned karting mechanic, Brian brings a depth of knowledge to the Townsville Kart Centre team that simply canāt be taught. Heās been trackside longer than most have been alive, and his calm, no-nonsense presence has become a cornerstone of the TKC paddock.
From kart setup and tuning to troubleshooting and mentoring, Brianās role extends far beyond the tools. Heās a mentor to the younger crew, a trusted support to parents and families, and a key contributor to the smooth running of race weekends across the country.
But what makes Brian truly special isnāt just his technical skill ā itās his patience, his presence, and the way he supports the growth of everyone around him. He doesnāt chase the spotlight. He builds the team that earns it.
Steady, smart, and unshakably dependable ā Brian is the guy every team wishes they had. At TKC, weāre lucky enough to call him one of our own.

Ash O'Neill - Coach, Mechanic
Revitalizing the Racing Realm with a Fusion of Experience
Ash OāNeill is TKCās go-to guy when things need fixing, fine-tuning, or flat-out reimagining.
With a background in competitive push bike racing and years of hands-on experience as a bike mechanic, Ash brings a deep understanding of how machines move ā and more importantly, how to make them move better. That precision and mechanical instinct has translated seamlessly into the world of karting.
Whether itās straightening a bent chassis, adjusting axle alignment, or diagnosing a mid-race issue, Ash thrives on the problem-solving side of the sport. Heās a detail guy. Quietly efficient. Always in the zone. The kind of person who doesnāt just turn spanners ā he thinks five steps ahead while he does it.
Now a key part of the Townsville Kart Centre crew, Ash plays a crucial role in keeping the teamās equipment in peak form. Behind every fast lap is a well-prepped kart ā and behind that kart, more often than not, is Ash.
Fast is great. Reliable is better. And Ash makes sure we have both.

CRUISE MASON - COACH, MECHANIC
Cruise Mason, the latest addition to the Townsville Kart Centre coaching team, brings a cool head, sharp race IQ, and a deep understanding of karting forged from years behind the wheel.
Hailing from Mackay and stepping into the karting world at a young age, Cruise has raced across the state and country, learning the craft the hard way ā through grit, repetition, and relentless self-improvement. His journey, like many champions in the making, began at club level and has been defined by focus, patience, and a quiet determination that sets him apart in the chaos of race day.
Now, as a mentor and coach with TKC, Cruise is turning that experience into something greater ā guiding young drivers not just to go faster, but to think smarter, work harder, and carry themselves like professionals on and off the track. Heās quickly become a steady presence in the team environment, trusted by both kids and parents to bring calm, clarity, and confidence when it counts most.
Cruise isnāt here to chase glory ā heās here to help build it in others.
